In
2007, 117 southern California residents were asked to select from a
list of 20 items (alphabetized below), the four that best described
the leading cause of drug-induced deaths that had been reported by the
Center for Disease Control (CDC) since 1999.

Group 1 was considered most toxic and Group 5 described the least toxic.
The four , participants were asked to rank 20 items from the most toxic to
the least toxic. Four items were consistently among the last 4.
This encompassed: Cottage Cheese, Milk, Aspririn, and Flour. Next to
last were four subgroups that are not always conssubmables: Salt,
Chalk, Crayon; and Bab y Powder. Third to last were: Eye
Drops; OxyContin, would identify the most lethal substandes in our
society. Considering he asked to select any four substances
from a list of 20 that they thought were mot detrimental to life.
