HUFFING GASOLINE: "Best" High; Most Lethal High                                        BACK

4 MAXIMUM HARM

 Gasoline is a member of the hydrocarbon family of chemical substances, which are known to be lethal.  There is no known benefit, medical or otherwise, that gasoline has on life.

NO RESTRICTIONS Although 1out of every 5 incidents of huffing gasoline is believed to be associated with serious health problems and even death, it is easy for children to get.
LOCAL GAS STATIONS PROVIDE  Any gas station will sell their product to anyone although technically it is illegal to sell gasoline to minors.  However, if a kid wants it to run a motorbike, who's going to stop them?
$ CHEAP No matter how much gas may cost, it's very affordable for huffing.  At $3.00 a gallon or $6.00, it's still only takes pennies to get high.
High = 5 out of 5 stars Huffing gasoline has been called by some as "the best" high even though it is relatively short in duration. NOTE:  The US Govt has halted any consideration that gasoline is being used as a drug of pleasure..

GASOLINE

MEDICINAL VALUE  = 0 of 5

There is no known medicinal value for gasoline since it is not a consumable.  Even if there were the slightest chance that some medical value might be derived, it is likely that the side effects would outstrip any value it has as a medicine.  Brain damage is chief among the side effects.

ADDICTIVE =  ?

The information about gasoline and other inhalants is scanty at best.  Research on gasoline as a consumable product is nearly non-existent.  Thus, it is difficult for anyone to agree on whether or not it is addictive.

METHAMPHETAMINE: AN FDA-APPROVED MEDICATION FOR NARCOLEPSY                BACK

BACK

1 MINIMUM HARM

A prescription drug used as treatment for obesity, narcolepsy, and ADHD when other treatment fails, Desoxyn is considered to be the least harmful of the four medications.  Why?  First, it's prescribed for ages 6 years old and up.  Although taken in quantity it has abuse potential, it is less toxic than alcohol with the lowest mortality and morbidity rate of any of the four substances here.   OTC sleeping tablets might a have a higher risk potential.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

SCHEDULE II

And yet, Desoxyn is a controlled substance!  Why? Because Desoxyn is considered to be a pleasure drug to some individuals.  Although it does have a number of short and long term side effects, these side effects are comparatively negligible.  But with a far greater abuse potential, why isn't gasoline a controlled substance...?

PHYSICIANS WILL NOT PRESCRIBE

Narcoleptics, and those with ADHD and those who are obese are typical users of this medication.  Because US physicians do not want to risk prescribing it, they assign health educators to help patients locate the illicit form of the drug from street dealers.

$$$ MODERATELY COSTLY

Because it is a controlled substance, it is much more difficult to obtain Desoxyn.

High = 2.5+ out of 5 stars

The range of a high that one obtains from this drug depends on whether or not some one has a legitimate disorder.

Methamphetamine

Hydrochloride

MEDICINAL VALUE  = 2+? of 5

There are reasons why the medicinal value of this drug is unknown... for one, it has never been tested.

ADDICTIVE =  ?

TOBACCO IS ADDICTIVE; THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF CIGARETTES MAKE IT TOXIC       BACK

3 MORE THAN AVERAGE HARM

Morbidity / mortality rates associated with cigarettes is rare for the short term and very high for long term.  There is an association with the amount of smoking.  Since the stimulating effects don't show outward signs of behavioral change, tobacco is considered a safe drug.  It is tar resin and chemicals that are inhaled into the lungs that result in changes.  Second-hand cigarette smoke is often considered worse than filtered smoke  It is the smoke that remains stagnant in the air that can accummulate in the lungs more than the thin air inhaled.

ADULTS OVER 18 CAN PURCHASE

Cigarettes and all tobacco products were once sold to minors.  This has been changing over the last two decades.  But still there are stores that continue to sell to minors.  To bring sales down and make store owner responsible, some stores have a policy that anyone under the age of 35 or older, can still be asked to show identification.

AVAILABLE AT ANY STORE

Most any store still sells cigarettes.  Smokers complain that fewer stores sell the product but compared to other drugs, cigarettes ar easy to purchase.

$$ LOW COST

At pennies per stick, cigarettes are still low cost although it is not as cheap as gasoline.

High = 1.2 out of 5 stars

The lack of any substantial high make cigarettes more accessible.  There is no behavioral changes that one might notice.

Tobacco Cigarettes

MEDICINAL VALUE  = 0.2 of 5

Nicotine has a calming value medicinally, however, the benefit is negligible since this calming value pales in comparison to the negative effects.  For a smoker of many years to quit, there is some wonder whether it is worth it.  If one could smoke in moderation -- one or two cigarettes a week perhaps -- it might not be as bad.  People who are chain smokers or smoke more than a pack a week could be causing more harm.

ADDICTIVE =  5 of 6

Cigarettes are one of the most addictive drugs.  Once a user starts, it is very difficult to control the urge.  Drug addiction varies with individual.  Drugs become more addictive over time.

CRYSTAL METHAMPHETAMINE                              BACK

2 LESS THAN AVERAGE HARM

Actually, the harm rate depends upon the substance.  If it is manufactured similarly to Desoxyn, harm is reduced.  Some believe that the government may start or may have already started manufacturing this drug for sale to the market.  If so, it is credible that this drug will be either be weaker -- at best -- or more toxic and deadly, a worst.

Illicit Drug for Everyone, however there is more tolerance as some physicians see it.

There is an increasing amount of tolerance in many urban communities for crystal meth; in other communities this has become the number on dragon for good reason.

Available through private sources

Next to cannabis, crystal methamphetamine is said to be the most prevalent drug.

$$$$ HIGH COST

Of the four substances, this is the one that costs the most, making it nearly impossible for many to obtain, however, a higher demand is resulting in a drop in price.

High = 2 to 3.5 out of 5 stars

Varies from batch to batch and among dealers.  There is no quality control.

Crystal Methamphetamine

MEDICINAL VALUE  = 2 of 5

Not completely known.

ADDICTIVE =  4 of 6

Crystal meth is not nearly as addictive as cigarettes.
