Urban development is very likely to
continue throughout the next 50 to 60 years but it won't be the web that
promotes it. A more realistic perspective of the world in the year
2065 would be the density of suburban and rural areas, the multiple
changes in security and performance, but most of all, the liklihood that
anthropomorphic robotics will have emerged to become outstanding peices of
machinery with personalities that might be all interconnected via wireless
software as humans will begin to convert into robots, enabling lifespans
up to 200 years. It is likely that our atmosphere will have changed
as will the nature of portability and the means to communicate.
Protection from solar radiation will be mandatory as exposure to direct
rays of the sun penetrating the earth's thin atmosphere is likely to
result in serious skin damage. It is probable that we will have
contaminated a great deal of the earth's surface such that by end of the
century, space colonies floating in low earth orbit will be deployed in
huge numbers. We will need to settle on other planets outside
our solar system and maybe even outside our galaxy. Thus, the world
wide web will need to evolve into a galactic or universal medium putting
high demands on communications systems and the need to resolve
numerous communication enigmas not even thought of today
